Hey Hiking Pacers,
Our last hike, as always, was great!!! but, I should, specially, mentioned the hikers who decided to hike the longer option. 15 miles. I am so proud of them.
This week we are doing a hike to Sunset Peak! Hope you can join us.

Descriptions: 7.8 miles roundtrip with 1,300′ elevation gain/loss

Last week was the last time we had an option #2 hike for this cycle. No need for a longer option because our mileage is increasing.

Hello! I’ve never been on a hike with y’all. What sort of clothing do you recommend? How much water? Boots? Or, I have a pair of Ryka Trail shoes–which I normally wear hiking at Debs Park… is that appropriate? Just not sure what to expect. Thanks for your help!
Hi Kelly,
We normally recommend wearing some kind of trail running shoes because they have better soles compared to regular running shoes. You can wear hiking boots too if that is more comfortable for you. But on the shorter hikes (7 or 8 miles and under), trail running shoes will work just fine in most instances. As for clothing, moisture-wicking athletic clothes usually work good. Layering is a must to keep warm and to keep cool if needed. I would recommend you go to REI or Patagonia and speak with the reps there and get specific product suggestions. Hope this helps!
